The Council’s date for completion of the 2024 Recharter is

December 31, 2023

 

The Online Membership Renewal must be approved by a Unit Key 3 member or Key 3 Delegate no later than December 31st.

            Membership Renewal / Recharter Process

     using

Internet Advancement 2.0

 

1. The process is completed by using your existing my.scouting.org, Scoutbook or Internet Advancement username and password.

2. Have ALL applications submitted ONLINE!

Internet Recharter 2.0 allows you to renew your unit’s charter online and perform the following:

  • Select members from your existing charter roster
  • Add new members / remove old members
  • Easily check if an Adult Leader has a Criminal Background Check (CBC) on file.
  • Easily see if an Adult Leader’s Youth Protection Training (YPT) is up to date.
  • Update member information including:
    • Changing Adult positions without filling out another application
      • (Must be an existing member with a valid BSA ID)
    • Update all Fees including Scouts BSA subscriptions
    • Mark multiples (people paying in a different unit)
  • Validate Recharter.
  • Pay National and Council Fees.

  National and Council BSA fees effective with your charter:

  • $80 for Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouting participants ($5 increase) ***
  • $60 for all adult volunteers ($15 increase to provide general liability insurance and enhanced background checks)
  • $25 one-time joining fee for new program participants in Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing and Sea Scouting (Not prorated and no change in fee)
  • $25 for Merit Badge Counselors (New Fee applies only for Merit Badge Counselors not already registered as leaders)
  • $50 for Exploring participants Youth & Adult ($5 increase)
  • $100 for a unit charter/affiliation fee (no change in fee)
  • $15 for Scout Life magazine subscription

***This amount goes directly to the National BSA and does not include any additional fees a Unit may collect.

 

In addition to the National Fees the Simon Kenton Council charges each youth member a $60 program fee. The $60 program fee will enable us to fulfill the promise of Scouting by covering the cost of essential Scouting services for our youth and families.
